The Overberg Modular Railway club was formed in 2007 and currently has 8 active members.

The HO stock that we run consists mainly of a good supply of Lima SAR stock (Blue Train, Trans-Karroo, Goods and Container traffic) There is also a good spattering of Fleischmann, Hornby consists and a lone DCC Bachmann locomotive. Full DCC operating is presently not available.


2 Members have N Gauge stock and a modular layout will be planned and built in the future to be exhibited above and behind the existing HO modules.


A very successful first public run was held during the Hermanus Whale Festival in September 2008 where over 300 people visited the layout.

The Modules (1200 x 600mm) - inclusive of the supports - are built by the club's own craftsmen to assure uniformity and then sold to members at R 200 each.


The critical track measurements and specifications are those of the PMT as supplied by the late Brian Watson.


Where possible funds are generated in favour of the Overstrand Hospice.
